Life

Trying to be a full time artist who still has to work a day job to pay bills is hard. Finding time to paint can sometimes be a struggle but I am working on it. I managed to do a little on my polar bear and I am liking how it’s turning out.

Work in progress.

I was watching a documentary on polar bears and was very inspired to paint one. I’m in between commissions so I decided to go for it. I started taking pictures of my tv so I had a clue on how to paint one and I came up with this. I think I’m going to call it …..

Vacation as are fantastic!

I’m enjoying a much needed vacation. Visiting my daughter and her family on the west coast. Of course I still have to art- it’s in my soul. These are two 11×14 paintings I completed in the last ten relaxing days.

In The Garden- inspired by a family of deer feasting in the garden of a nearby residence.
Grandmom’s Backyard- This lovely view of Bellingham Bay was inspired by the view my granddaughter sees when visiting her grandmother house.

New studio in the works!

I am so excited at the fact that I am moving my art studio out of my kitchen. Since my daughter recently moved into her own apartment, I am able to switch bedrooms around in my home. Bless my husband for figuring out how to fit my king size bed into the one front bedroom. This will free up my old room, which is around 10ft x 25ft, to be my new art studio. Will post a picture when I’m done. There’s a lot of work to be done and I’m very excited. Stay tuned.

Work in progress

I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Intrepid Air and Space Museum in New York with family for my grandson’s 16th birthday. My grandson favorite plane is the SR-17 Blackbird and this one will be for him.

Background started and plane sketched in. Hopefully I can do this nice.

Happiness

I need to learn how to work on my own happiness, instead of everyone else’s, and I don’t think I am the only one that feels that way. I decided that will be a new goal and painting is my happy place. Today I get the thrill of going on a road trip to the Brandywine Museum of Art with my sister in law. I also wanted to share what I’m working on. It does not yet have a name and there is still a lot of work to be done. I think it will become part of a new silhouette series.
